Certified Nursing Aide (CNA)


Position Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Aide (CNA) to join our team. The CNA will work under the supervision of nursing staff to provide essential care and support services to residents and patients. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, observing and reporting on patient conditions, and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for those in our care.


Key Responsibilities

  • Personal Care: Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting) and help with feeding as needed.
  • Mobility Support: Aid in moving, positioning, and transferring residents to ensure safety and comfort.
  • Vital Signs Monitoring: Measure and record basic vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and report any changes to the nursing team.
  • Hygiene and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks, ensuring proper infection control practices, and handling linens.
  • Observation and Reporting: Monitor resident conditions and behavior, accurately documenting observations and reporting any concerns or significant changes to the nursing staff.
  • Emotional Support: Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and residents, ensuring a respectful and caring atmosphere.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with nurses and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.

Qualifications

  • Certification: Valid CNA certification/license in [Insert State/Region].
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a healthcare or assisted living setting is preferred but not required.
  • Skills:
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment

Working Conditions

  • Must be able to stand, walk, and perform physical activities including lifting, bending, and transferring residents.
  • Work may involve exposure to varying temperatures and occasional exposure to bodily fluids.
  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.
  • Work environment in a clinical or residential care setting with adherence to strict infection control and safety procedures.
